Meet the Dental Team

Our friendly dental team is here to ensure you have a great visit to Brook Trout Dental. Learn more about the team members you will meet during your visit below.

Melody

Office Manager

Melody is the Office Manager of Brook Trout Dental. She was born in South Texas and is a graduate of Howard Payne University in Brownwood with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism. Melody met Dr. Weinhandl in 1996 in Denver while he was a resident of Denver General Hospital, an extremely busy trauma hospital. In fact, many of their dates consisted of them spending time together at the hospital as he was on call every fourth night. They married July 5, 1997 at University Hills Baptist Church in Denver and moved close to Edmonton, Alberta where Dr. Weinhandl practiced for five years before moving back to the United States. Melody handles staffing, insurance, payroll, taxes, and completion of governmental forms that keep the office running smoothly.

Tayah

Dental Assistant

Tayah was born and reared in Casper where she graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 2015. Tayah is a dental assistant for BTD New to the dental field, Tayah recently received her Radiology Certification and now assists Dr. Weinhandl proficiently in various procedures as his assistant. After graduating from high school, Tayah said that she was uncertain which career was of interest. However, once she trained with Dr. Weinhandl, she finds that dentistry has become her passion and she is striving to move into the field with further education toward the goal of becoming a dental hygienist.

Lizbet

Dental Assistant

Lizbet was born and raised in South Texas and most recently moved from Houston to Casper with her husband and their dog. She has a background in education and holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M–Kingsville. After several years of teaching, she has now transitioned into the dental field—pursuing a new career path with the goal of learning, growing, and stepping into each opportunity with purpose. Lizbet is a woman of faith who loves reading, baking, and spending time outdoors. She enjoys connecting with people over coffee and expressing herself through art, journaling, and creativity. She believes that every step—no matter how uncertain—is part of a greater purpose.

Abbi

Dental Assistant

Abbi was born in Nebraska, raised in Worland, WY and has called both Cheyenne and Casper home before moving to the warmer climate of Tucson, AZ where she resided prior to moving back to Casper in 2023. While in Tucson she attended the Arizona Sunset Dental School of Dental Assisting and completed her assisting education just before moving back to Wyoming. She joined the team of Brook Trout Dental while completing her externship hours and enjoys learning more about dental procedures from Dr. Weinhandl. Abbi enjoys spending time with her husband and four children outdoors, sharing meals and crafting together.

Debbie

LPN & Receptionist

Debbie’s nursing experience is a great asset in the dental environment. She continues to pursue that while joining Brook Trout Dental part-time in reception, where she assists in booking appointments and emergency medical protocols. She is a proud mother and grandmother and enjoys having all of her family close by in Casper after having moved from Ohio several years ago.

Chris

Receptionist

Chris retired with the State of Wyoming in 2021 and found that she missed the work environment so decided to join the Brook Trout Dental team. Both she and her husband, Jim, are long-time patients and she was well familiar with the office and has always enjoyed the atmosphere of it. She has two children, twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She loves camping, working outdoors and going to the lake in the summer!

Megan

Receptionist

Megan was born and raised in Wyoming and has lived in Casper for the past 26 years. She received her Associates of Business in Accounting from Casper College. Megan volunteers with the Natrona County Master Gardeners and has worked with both Climb Wyoming and Habitat for Humanity. She enjoys reading and hanging out with her pets. 

Karen

Registered Dental Hygienist

Karen brings 20 years of dental hygiene experience to Brook Trout Dental. She loves forming relationships with her patients and helping them stay in the best dental health possible. Karen has lived in Casper for 14 years now where she and her husband and three boys raise competitive show lambs. She also enjoys running from one activity or sporting event to the next supporting her boys.

Lori

Registered Dental Hygienist

Lori is pleased to be a part of the Brook Trout Dental team, where she works alongside Dr. Weinhandl to provide thoughtful, patient‑focused care. With 36 years of experience as a registered dental hygienist, Lori is known for her gentle approach, attention to detail, and dedication to helping patients feel comfortable and informed. After many years of practicing in Colorado, she returned to Casper in 2022, a place where her family has deep, multi‑generation roots.
Lori has spent much of her career giving back to her profession. She has held numerous leadership roles with the Colorado Dental Hygienists’ Association, including Vice President, President‑Elect, President, Past President, Secretary of the House of Delegates and Editor of a professional newsletter. She was also nominated twice to serve on the Colorado Dental Board. These roles reflect her passion for leadership, collaboration, and advancing the dental hygiene profession.
Lori graduated from Columbine High School, attended Baylor University and earned her dental hygiene degree from Sheridan College. She truly enjoys being part of the Casper community and relishes being back. Outside the office, she’s a lifelong horse enthusiast and spent many years competing in eventing and dressage with her Dutch Warmblood, London Fog.
These days, she enjoys quilting, traveling to horse races around the country, spending time with her two adult sons, and putting her personal touch on her 1969 home. She’s also a licensed Real Estate Agent and a Notary Public Signing Agent, keeping her busy both in and out of the dental office.
